Snow in the South

We stayed up late last night with the kids and Chante/David and their kids. Once the snow started falling heavy, we all donned our gear and played in the snow! Also, we broke in our new fire pit and enjoyed a great warm fire.

Snow in the South!

Early this am, at around 5:30, I woke the kids to let them see the snow coming down. I came on into work and after a while, they got their snow gear on, and made their own snowman!

Kaya made a snow angel, and the boys I’m sure, threw some snowballs!

The snow has subsided in the city area of Hattiesburg, but at this time, they are getting plenty of it West of Hwy 589. Here is a pic of a friend’s house in Oloh this am around 10:30 this morning, as well as, pics of the shocking snow that fell on New Orleans.

Clean and Clear now

Aside from some rain and a little flickering of lights, everything was fine here in the Pine Belt.  We still have a few tornado warnings and watches in the area, but for the most part, everything is ok.

Gustav in the Gulf

Evacuations continue today along the Gulf Coast as Hurricane Gustav continues on a collision course with the Gulf Coast. Landfall is expected late on Monday morning as at least a strong Category 3 storm, the same strength of Hurricane Katrina when it devastated the region three years ago.
